Her publicist, R. Couri Hay, confirmed the sad news, stating, "Suzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family. Her family had gathered to celebrate her 77th birthday on October 16th. Instead, they will celebrate her extraordinary life and want to thank her millions of fans and followers who loved her dearly."

Suzanne Somers used her celebrity status to transition into a successful business career focused on wellness. She became widely recognized as the spokesperson for the leg-toning ThighMaster and authored 27 books, primarily on the subject of natural health. Her commitment to wellness was notable, and she inspired many with her advocacy in this field.

Suzanne's journey with breast cancer began in 2000, a battle she faced with her characteristic strength and resilience. Her approach to health drew attention and controversy when she chose to forgo chemotherapy treatment and embraced alternative remedies. She continued to fight cancer privately, as she revealed in July.

In one of her Instagram posts, she shared, "As you know, I had breast cancer two decades ago, and every now and then it pops up again, and I continue to bat it down. I have used the best alternative and conventional treatments to combat it. This is not new territory for me. I know how to put on my battle gear, and I'm a fighter."

Suzanne Somers first captivated the audience with her role in George Lucas' "American Graffiti" in 1973, where she conveyed her character's feelings with just one phrase, "I love you." It was a role she described as having changed her life forever. Throughout the 1970s, she accumulated a diverse portfolio of TV and film credits, but she became most famous for her portrayal of Chrissy Snow, the lovable "dumb blonde," in "Three's Company" from 1977 to 1981.

Reflecting on her iconic character, Suzanne revealed, "Creating her was actually intellectual. How do I make her likable and loveable... dumb blondes are annoying. I gave her a moral code. I imagined it was the childhood I would've liked to have had."

Her career on "Three's Company" was not without its challenges. Suzanne Somers faced salary disparities, with male co-stars earning significantly more. She was ultimately let go from the show, she claimed, "for having the audacity to ask to be paid commensurate with men."

Suzanne's longest-running TV role was as a mother in a blended family on "Step by Step," a series that ran from 1991 to 1998. Her talent and charm continued to shine on screen, captivating audiences and leaving an enduring legacy.

A private family burial is scheduled for this week, followed by a memorial service next month, as confirmed by her publicist, R. Couri Hay. Suzanne Somers will be remembered not only for her acting prowess but also for her unwavering dedication to health and wellness, making her an enduring figure in both Hollywood and the world of natural health.
